Day 71 - The Daily Grind

Sonora Pass to Mile 1034.2 - 17.1 miles

After the overnight stay at the hostel at NKM it was back on the trail to South Lake Tahoe. It was an intetesting start with 10 of us getting a hitch in one vehicle. A guy with a big trailer home put all of us in the back and took us back to Sonora Pass!!
The first part of the day was a tough climb up to 10259 feet to get around Sonora Peak. From near the top the trail levelled out with Tree Bear & Fox leading the way
You could also see down in to Sonora Pass towards Bridgeport
The north faces are still holding large amounts of snow with a Vancouver native - Gazelle - showing nice glissade moves
The rest of the day saw us edge down the Carson River before climbing 1000 feet out of the valley with a further 600 foot climb to get us close to Boulder Peak and our campsite for the evening.
The miles are starting to wear some people down with a few talking of pulling the pin. It will only get tougher as we grind our way through California....Weta
