Day 22 - Small Town Hospitality

Mile 357.2 to Wrightwood - 12.2 miles. Distance from Mexico 369.4 miles.

The day started with more climbing but at least we had this sunrise
We finally topped out at 8312 feet meaning a climb of 5317 feet since yesterday lunchtime.
The views have changed as well with the Mojave replacing the mountains previously scaled
We snapped up a lift to Wrightwood at our end point where Goldfish (Bastian) & Joe had arranged accommodation with locals - Amy & Brian. Wrightwood is a small mountain community who knows how to look after hikers. After a lime milkshake, a resupply & finding a 2nd hand bookshop we headed to our hosts for showers, laundry & a general clean up. And later I got some juicy nectarines at the local market & dined on pizza & burgers.
Amt & Brian were amazing opening up there home to us, being outstanding hosts, running us everywhere - for nil compensation!!! We couldn't thank them enough. Top top people...Weta
