Day 106 - A Walk In The Woods

Mile 1740.2 to Mile 1764.7 - 24.5 miles

I've borrowed the title off Bill Bryson's book about the Appalachian Trail as it sums up the day. All day we have been trapped in the confines of tree trunks & tall timber
On rare occasions I was able to espy lakes through the trees & once I saw the volcanic cone of Mt McLoughlin to the north. Only late in the day did we got something different with scoria paths that crossed old lava fields
In between times we had x2 trail magic caches with cold drinks, fruit, snacks etc. We also came upon this impressive banner alerting us to a proposed LNG pipeline
At one junction this sign also announced we'd done 2/3 distance
Getting there, getting there.....Weta
