It was another day with a side trip. This time Tiptoe was keen to scramble up the 9200 foot Mt Thielsen which we had eyes yesterday. It was well worth the steep grunt on hands & knees as we were rewarded with spectacular 360 degree views. Once again Tiptoe just had to get the ultimate shot
The view of the Crater Lake rim really showed up the lower slopes of Mt Mazama before it imploded
As always, elevation means reception - Muffin, Pacer & Tiptoe taking advantage
In the drop down we had the perfect view of Diamond Lake
The PCT itself was once again a tree enveloped day but the mature forests were much more easier on the eye. We have passed the high point on the PCT for Oregon/Washington so all downhill again I guess
We are camped at Six Horse Springs with a long day booked for tomorrow before ducking in to Shelter Cove the following day....Weta
