Day 111 - Oregon At Its Finest

Mile 1869.6 to Mile 1899.9 - 30.3 miles

Oregon was simply beautiful today (aside the mosquitos around the numerous lakes) with a clear sunny day, a gentle cooling breeze, sweeping views & enchanting forest. Our first climb took us past Cowhorn Mountain
After the mountain we came out on to a ridge to be greeted with breathtaking views of Crescent Lake in the foreground & the Sisters Mountains in the distance
A bit further along the ridge & towards the north west, Diamond Peak emerged with Summit Lake at its base. The trail would pass the mountain on its eastern flank in the treeline
The climb adjacent to Diamond Peak afforded us glorious views and a sense of how big Oregon is (I did not paint the clouds on)

The trees go on forever - no wonder there is a tree on Oregon number plates although we speculated that the tree should be lying down given the amount of blowdowns.
A stop in at Shelter Cove tomorrow for (hopefully) a resupply & then onward....Weta
